The Dexter Bearcats defeated the Sikeston Bulldogs in the semifinals of the District 1 Tennis Tournament Tuesday afternoon. The Bearcats got off to a strong start and pushed their way to a finals match-up with the Potosi Trojans with a 5-0 victory.
Dexter swept the double matches with Peyton Bole and Lawson Blocker defeating Levi Douglass/Leo Huang 8-5, Cooper Worley and Drew Chamberlain defeated Jake Buchanan/Charles Robison 8-2 and Logan Jones and Rhyder Williams defeated Michael Walton/Benjamin Gilmore 8-2.
In singles action: Boles defeated Doublass 6-1, 6-2, Jones defeated Walton 6-1, 6-1 and Williams defeated Gilmore 6-1, 6-1.
The Bearcats will play Potosi for the District Championship on Wednesday (May 10), starting at 4 p.m. at the Dexter High School Tennis Courts
