CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Dexter posted a 71-55 victory over Chaffee in a girls game filled with 15 3-point baskets. Dexter's Amy Rose, who finished with a game-high 28 points, accounted for six of her team's seven treys. Katie Dunlap added 18 points. Dexter led throughout, building a 15-8 lead in the first quarter and holding a 30-23 lead at halftime.

Perryville 59, Windsor 25

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Ten Lady Pirates found the scoring column as Perryville improved to 8-1 in Jefferson County Conference action.

Jamie Amberger scored 11 points to lead Perryville (13-9).

Perryville held a comfortable 31-16 lead at halftime and was never threatened.

Delta 71, Woodland 24

MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- With Rebecca Below pouring in 39 points, the Lady Bobcats crushed the Woodland Lady Cardinals.

"Below was unstoppable," said Woodland coach Harley Eddleman. "We had no one to match up with her."

Delta (11-7) led 46-10 at the half on the way to the rout of the winless Lady Cardinals (0-13).

Rebecca Cook and Sarah Cook contributed 15 and 13 points, respectively, for Delta.

Diana McCall and Alisha Tranum paced Woodland with six apiece. Laci Roberts had five points.

Oran 49, East Prairie 18

ORAN, Mo. -- The Lady Eagles cruised to victory, holding East Prairie to single-digit scoring in each quarter.

Led by Maria and Stacey Eftink with 11 points each, Oran improved its record to 9-8.

The Lady Eagles literally won at the free-throw line with 22 points.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Puxico 55, Leopold 47

LEOPOLD, Mo. -- The Leopold Wildcats hung tough, but were unable to execute down the stretch in a loss to the Puxico Indians.

Leopold (8-10), trailing by only three points with 33 seconds to go, failed to convert on its next possession and was forced to foul.

Puxico cashed in on its late free-throw opportunities to secure the win.

The contest was close throughout with Leopold holding a 28-27 advantage at the half.

Puxico held a slim 40-39 edge entering the final quarter.

Ashton James led the Wildcats with 13 points, while Kevin Holzum chipped in with 10.
