SIKESTON — After a hiatus from the Sikeston girls’ tennis team, coach Lynne DeWitt returns to the helm, bringing a wealth of experience and renewed energy to the upcoming season.

Having previously coached the Lady Bulldogs, DeWitt’s familiarity with the program, coupled with her extensive background in coaching both boys and girls high school tennis, positions the team for a successful campaign.

“We have been practicing hard,” DeWitt said. “We have been running and doing drills to get into good shape. We are working hard, encouraging each other and working as a team. We are hoping to improve each match and consistently get better and improve.”

Sikeston will navigate a demanding schedule in the highly competitive SEMO Conference. With a minimum of three matches scheduled per week, their calendar is packed with intense matchups against skilled opponents. The team’s perseverance will be put to the test as they strive to conquer the tough competition and make their mark on the conference.

“We have been working hard and can’t wait to play matches,” DeWitt said.

The Lady Bulldogs have some talented and skilled players. Leading the pack is senior Chloe Lin, who holds the esteemed position as the team’s No. 1 singles player.

Following closely behind is senior Saloni Maisuria, who solidifies her spot as the No. 2 singles player.

The team’s depth continues with junior Juliet Collins at the No. 3 spot and junior Alanna Jones at the No. 4, both bringing their competitive spirit to the court.

Senior Anna Purves serves as the No. 5 player, while sophomore Cheyenne Parker rounds out the lineup as the No. 6 player.

The doubles division showcases the team’s chemistry and coordination. Lin and Maisuria form a formidable duo as the No. 1 doubles team, combining their strengths for an imposing partnership.

Collins and Jones join forces as the No. 2 doubles team, utilizing their complementary playing styles to maximize their performance.

Purves and Parker complete the lineup as the No. 3 doubles team, bringing their skills and teamwork to the court.

The Lady Bulldogs enter the season with a determined spirit, ready to give it their all and show their skills on the court.

Sikeston opened the season at the Cape Central Team Tournament on Friday, August 25.
