CHAFFEE -- Fourth-seed Delta scored on a last-second shot by Amanda McDaniel to rally past top-seeded Scott City 40-39 in the Scott-Mississippi Conference Tournament semifinals Friday night.
Delta (11-2) plays for the tourney championship tonight at 8 against second-seed Kelly (10-3). The Lady Hawks beat No. 3 Scott County Central 71-53 earlier in the evening.
McDaniel's game-winning bucket came with seven-seconds left. Scott City (8-3) was unable to get a shot off in the final seconds. McDaniel finished with 10 points and teammate Kristen Fish tallied 13. Scott City got a game-high 14 points from Amanda Dees and 13 from Amy O'Brien.
Scott City led 31-25 after three quarter, but Delta outscored the Lady Rams 15-8 in the final quarter.
Kelly trailed Scott County 31-25 at halftime before racing away in the second half. Kelly put four players in double figures in its victory. Jennifer McNiell led the way with 17 points followed by Heather Scott (16), Audrey Burford (10) and Ashley Dirnberger (10).
Scott County (5-7) also had balanced scoring led by LaKeya Turner's 15 points. Tashika Raby added 12 points followed by Danika Kidd (11) and Vontrice Blackmon (10).
In the JV championship game tonight, Kelly will face Scott City at 6:30.
