The Delta Girls New Year's Tournament will kick off today with all eight teams in action. First round games will feature top-seeded Dexter facing off against eighth-seeded Puxico at 4 p.m., No. 4 St. Vincent against No. 5 Woodland at 5:30, second-seeded host Delta versus No. 7 Chaffee at 7 and No. 3 Twin Rivers against No. 6 Oran at 8:30...

The Delta Girls New Year's Tournament will kick off today with all eight teams in action.

First round games will feature top-seeded Dexter facing off against eighth-seeded Puxico at 4 p.m., No. 4 St. Vincent against No. 5 Woodland at 5:30, second-seeded host Delta versus No. 7 Chaffee at 7 and No. 3 Twin Rivers against No. 6 Oran at 8:30.

Semifinal games in the consolation and championship bracket will follow Wednesday, with play beginning in the consolation bracket at 4:30 p.m. The championship game will be held Saturday at 5 p.m.

Saturday will mark the eighth annual Tiger Shootout at Cape Girardeau Central High School.

The one-day event will feature the area's three large schools, Jackson, Central and Notre Dame, along with one of the area's top small schools in Oran.

Jackson (6-4) will kick off the action at noon when it squares off against Lindbergh (5-6); Notre Dame (7-3) will follow at 1:30 against Vianney (7-3); Oran (6-4) will face Fredericktown at 3; and host Central (8-3) will cap off the day's events as it matches up with Jennings (6-5) at 4:30.
