__PB’s Barks wraps up play at the MGA Stroke Play__
Poplar Bluff rising senior Lawson Barks finished 47th in the Missouri Golf Association Men’s Stroke Play Championship Wednesday in O’Fallon.
Barks carded rounds of 76-71 on Tuesday to make the cut in a field stacked with the best men’s golfers in the state of Missouri.
Barks followed it up with rounds of 80-79 but it’s still a bright spot at Barks prepares for his final season as a Poplar Bluff Mule.
St. Joseph native Brad Nurski won his second-straight title and fourth overall as he shot -12 to win the event by two shots.
__Battle of the Bulls hitting Ray Clinton Park Saturday__
The Three Rivers College Rodeo is hosting its Battle of the Bulls on Saturday at Ray Clinton Park in Poplar Bluff.
The action starts at 7 p.m. and is sponsored by Farm Credit Southeast Missouri.
In addition to bull riding, the event will also have bounce houses for kids and food trucks on hand.
Bull riders will compete for up to $7,000 in prize money.
Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for kids 3-8. Under 2 are free.
__Registration open for Parks & Rec fall sports__
It’s time to start planning for the fall as the Poplar Bluff Parks & Recreation’s Fall Adult Softball Women’s Co-Ed League’s have now opened registration.
The cost is $350 per team and the deadline is
Aug. 4.
Registration for fall youth baseball/softball is also open with a deadline set for Friday.
Those interested can register online or at the Parks & Recreation office.
__FCA to host Huddle Leadership Camp in PB__
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is building off of its recent success in Poplar Bluff with a Huddle Leadership Camp July 28 at First Baptist Church.
The event is geared to train student leaders in a huddle setting, compete in large group games and learning how to share your testimony.
