__Presenters announced for Gene Bess at Naismith HOF__
Legendary Three Rivers College basketball coach Gene Bess will be inducted into the Naismith Hall of Fame in less than a month but it was recently announced who would welcome the coach into the hall.
Kentucky men’s basketball coach John Calipari, along with legendary coach Roy Williams and former NBA All-Star and HOFer Chris Bosh will welcome Bess into the HOF as his induction.
The induction is schedules for Aug. 12 in Springfield, Massachusetts.
__Registration open for Parks & Recreation fall sports__
It’s time to start planning for the fall as the Poplar Bluff Parks & Recreation’s Fall Adult Softball Women’s Co-Ed League’s have now opened registration.
The cost is $350 per team and the deadline is Aug. 4.
Registration for fall youth baseball/softball is also open with a deadline set for Friday.
Those interested can register online or at the Parks & Recreation office.
__Three Rivers baseball to hold summer prospect camps__
The Three Rivers College Baseball program will host two more summer prospect camps over the next month.
The first camp is scheduled for July 19 and is for grades 9-12. The camp is for infield and outfielders and the cost is $75. There are 20 spots for the camp.
The final camp is Aug. 2 and is for grades 1-5. The cost is $40 and it’s open to unlimited attendees.
Camp times are 9 a.m.- Noon and registration starts at 8:30 a.m. on the day of the camp. Email tylersmith@trcc.edu or zmckenney@trcc.edu to reserve your spot.
__FCA to host Huddle Leadership Camp in Poplar Bluff__
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is building off of its recent success in Poplar Bluff with a Huddle Leadership Camp July 28 at First Baptist Church.
The event is geared to train student leaders in a huddle setting, compete in large group games and learning how to share your testimony.
