Jeffco ends Lady Raiders’ season

At Trenton, Missouri, the Three Rivers College Lady Raiders got in an early hole and never could recover in a season-ending 12-4 loss to Jefferson Friday at the Region 16 softball tournament.

Jeffco scored single runs in each of the first three innings, then scored three more runs in the top of the fifth to take a 6-0 lead. The Vikings then added two more runs in the top of the sixth inning and four more in the seventh to put the game out of reach.

A.J. Agers hit a solo homer in the bottom of the fifth inning and Ann-Marie Simpson hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth to account for Three Rivers’ runs.

Earlier in the day, Agers pitched a shutout in a 1-0 win over Metropolitan in an elimination game.

The Lady Raiders end the season 44-12.
