Kansas senior Travis Dambach, a Jackson graduate, has started the first three games for the Jayhawks at right guard. Dambach had been a part-time starter each of the past two seasons.
Marcus Klund, a senior defensive back, is off to another strong start this season. Klund, a Central graduate, had an interception, forced a fumble and had seven tackles in a Week 2 win over Culver-Stockton. The following week Klund had nine tackles in a loss.
Last season Klund earned second-team All-American honors.
Billy Uren, a sophomore from Jackson, had a sack and four tackles in Lindenwood's Week 3 loss.
Three area players -- Jackson graduate K.T. Biri, Perryville graduate Amber Hacker and Notre Dame graduate Megan Holloway -- have started games for the Saints this season. St. Vincent graduate Stacy Brown and Notre Dame graduate Kelsey Scheeter have also seen game action.
All five players have at least one point, led by Biri with three goals and an assist.
* Nebraska sophomore Jennifer Pancoast, a Central graduate, finished seventh in 19 minutes, 27 seconds in the season-opening Creighton/UNO Classic as the Cornhuskers placed first as a team.
