Coors Light Trail of Tears triathlon results

Shearon takes first in Trail of Tears race

Jonathan Shearon placed first in the Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department's Coors Light Trail of Tears Triathlon at Trail of Tears State Park on Saturday.

The course consisted of a 700-meter swim in Lake Boutin, a 15-mile bike ride and 3.1-mile run, which Shearon covered in 1 hour, 3 minutes, 37.55 seconds. He finished the swim in 8:17.30, the bike in 35:49.40 and the run in 18:26.30.

Nick Waninger finished second in 1:04:44.90.

Damie Roberts was the top female finisher, covering the course in 1:17:21.20. She was 12th overall.
