Jackson swept the SEMO Conference baseball honors, taking both player of the year and coach of the year after a 9-0 conference record this season.

Jason Meystedt was voted player of the year for his stellar senior season. Meystedt is hitting over .400 and is 5-2 on the mound.

Jackson coach Rex Crosnoe was selected coach of the year after leading his team to a 19-3 record which included a perfect conference mark. The Indians also won the Class 4 District 1 title last week and will play Eureka at home on Thursday in the sectional round.

Other all-conference members for Jackson were pitcher Tyler Beussink, shortstop Rex Meyr and outfielder Derrick Biri. Beussink is perfect on the mound this season at 8-0.

Notre Dame and Central also landed four all-conference spots apiece.

Jeremy Brinkmeyer, Shane Menz, Dane Balsmann and Blake Essner made the team for Notre Dame. Brinkmeyer finished the season 9-0 on the mound.

Brad LaBruyere, Brandon Cooper, Zac Hudson and Scott Brueckner were selected from Central. LaBruyere, a sophomore, finished the season 8-2 on the mound with a 0.92 ERA. LaBruyere also threw two no-hitters.

Other area all-conference members included Jason Schenimann (Scott City), Brad Daugherty (Chaffee) and Kendal Deason (Kelly).

Glass signs with SEMO

Jackson senior Andy Glass has signed with Southeast Missouri State University to participate in track and field.

Glass, an all-state wrestler and all-conference football player, has come into his own with the track team this season. In only his second year of track, Glass won both district and sectional titles this season. He will compete this weekend at the Class 4 state meet in Jefferson City.

At the sectional meet at Parkway South on Saturday, Glass threw a personal-best 55 feet, 3 inches. A similar throw at the state meet this weekend could give Glass a shot at a state title.
