Cord Dombrowski and Chuck Rounsaville were the overall champions, winning the Horserace event at the 42-team, three-day Gentlemen's Invitational held at Dalhousie Golf Club.
Dombrowski and Rounsaville won the Pebble Beach flight, which put them in the Horserace -- a competition for the seven flight winners and a wild-card team -- a three-hole, alternate-shot format.
Other flight winners were Deke Lape and Aaron Gleason (Pinehurst), Tom Waltemate and Mike Robichaux (Congressional), Woody Harrelson and John Miller (Torrey Pines), John Abercrombie and Terry Farrow (Oakmont), Matt Wadiak and Mike Niesel (Olympic) and Jeff Dewitt and Terry Brown (Bethpage). Each team played five nine-hole, handicapped four-ball matches against the other five teams in its flight. David Wright and David Waggoner emerged as the wild-card team.
Closest-to-the-pin winners were Ron Burnett (No. 5), Britt Pavelonis (No. 8), Berk McIntyre (No. 11) and Mark Horn (No. 13).
Horn and Jim Meda won the Big Break challenge.
Shannon Birk of Jackson carded his first hole-in-one last week at Kimbeland Country Club.
Birk used a 6-iron to ace No. 6, a par 3 playing 160 yards. Witnesses were Sam Birk and Phil Hager.
Jonathan Bell shot a 76 to win the boys ages 14-and-15 Tour division at the Gateway Junior PGA event at Kennett Country Club in Kennett, Missouri.
Nathan Woolard finished second with a 79, while Peyton Bell was third with an 81.
Analeise Pyland won the girls 16-to-19 Tour division with an 87, while Brian Whitson won the boys 16-to-19 Tour division.
Regular 18-hole winners were Nicolas Hillman (80, boys 12-13), McKensie Parr (119, girls 14-15) and Chris Crawford (91, boys 16-19). Nine-hole winners were Jacie Pattengill (58, girls 10-11), Brant Hobbs (50, boys 12-13) and Skylar Marrow (67, boys 14-19).
The team of John Kinder, Luke Kinder, Peter Blakeslee and Tim Edwards won a scorecard playoff at the four-person Young Life Golf Classic last week at Dalhousie Golf Club.
Bill Reaser, Adam Lotz, Jeff Lotz and Aaron Wright also shot a 53.
The team of Todd Lumsden, Nelson Ringer, Janice Lumsden and Rick Hertzel won A flight with a 64.
Closest-to-the-pin winners were Richard Buchanan (No. 5), Kate Harding (No. 8) and Tim Brunck (No. 13). Drew Denton and Barb Johnson won the long-drive competition.
The team of Gene Golden, Andy Golden, Charlie Browley and Tom Doyle won the recent Southern Open four-person scramble at Cape Jaycee Municipal Golf Course.
The team of Ed Welker, Kathy Welker, Tim Raines and Vicki Raines finished first in A flight.
Sissy Donahue won the longest drive and closest-to-the-pin competitions, while Jeff Williams had the longest putt.
Ryan Lane finished first overall at the recent Furry 5K run in a time of 17 minutes, 32 seconds.
Ashley Schmittzehe was the top female, finishing in 20:48.
Female flight winners were Abigain Clippard (24:37. 14 and under), Hannah Cooper (22:37, 20-24), Whitney Tankersley (24:44, 25-29), Kate Hileman (26:13, 30-34), Karla Cornelius (24:28, 35-39), Janet Cannon (31:38, 40-44), Evy KcKeever (34:02, 45-49), Suzanne Garoian (26:46, 50-54), Jill Eldridge (35:36, 55-59) and Peggy Hill (29:19, 60 and over).
Male flight winners were Caleb Cornelius (19:54, 14 and under), Gage Kinder (23:56, 15-19), Johnathan Samo (23:56, 25-29), Eric Daume (21:52, 30-34), Dewayne Sides (22:33, 35-39), Derek Cornelius (21:48, 40-44), Eric Boles (22:34, 45-49), Steve Schmittzehe (21:23, 50-54), Clark Daniel (20:00, 55-59) and Gregory Harrison (25:06, 60 and over).
Cory Kluesner and Carolyn Schreckenberg won the recent eight-team SEMO Horseshoe Association event in Oran, Missouri.
Randy Senciboy and Ron Legrand placed second.
Lachelle Cook and Legrand won the 11-team competition in Leopold, Missouri. Cori Stoverink and James Hillis finished second.
The upcoming events are Saturday at the Oran Jaycees and Sunday at the Backyard Horseshoe Club in Grassy, Missouri.
