The Colonels (36-14, 19-4) solidified their hold on first place in the Ohio Valley Conference with a 3-0, 3-1 doubleheader sweep. The second game went 10 innings. The Otahkians (14-31, 9-11) are sixth among 10 OVC teams.

Southeast had just nine hits, including three in the opener. Jamie Birk was the lone Otahkian with two hits on the day. EKU had 15 hits.

Kelsey Anderson got the shutout in the opener and she also pitched 4 1/3 innings in the nightcap. Kindal Kincaid was the winner with 5 2/3 shutout innings.

Amy Fahnestock allowed three runs in five innings of the opener to get the loss. She pitched seven innings of one-run ball in the nightcap. Kelly Birk got the loss after allowing a Jennifer Norris two-run homer in the 10th.
