College signings

• Notre Dame senior catcher Chase Simmons signed a letter of intent to play baseball at perennial junior college power Jefferson College in Hillsboro, Mo., on Wednesday. Simmons was all-conference his junior season. Jefferson College has made consecutive appearances in the Junior College World Series.

* Central senior first baseman Ramsey Scott signed a letter of intent to play baseball at perennial junior college power Maple Woods Community College in Kansas City, Mo., on Wednesday. Scott was honorable mention all-conference his junior season.

* Central senior Calvin Lovig signed a letter of intent to play football at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Mo., on Wednesday. Lovig served as the Tigers' punter and kicker the past two seasons. He was all-conference and all-region his senior season.

* Notre Dame senior Luke Mocherman signed a letter of intent to play soccer at Bellarmine University in Louisville, Ky., on Wednesday. Bellarmine, a Division II school, plays in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Mocherman was an all-region forward his senior season.

* Notre Dame senior midfielder Carson Bruenderman signed a letter of intent to play soccer at McKendree University in Lebanon, Ill. McKendree, a Division II school, plays in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
