Kelly junior Dakaria Johnson clinched the silver in the 100 dash with a time of 12.78 seconds and took seventh in the 200 dash with a time of 26.80 seconds to help lead the Hawks at Saturday's Class 2 track and field state meet in Jefferson City, Missouri.

Johnson joined teammates Samantha Ratledge, Taylor Lasater and McKynlee Neumeyer to post a third-place finish of 50.89 seconds in the 800 relay for the Hawks. Ratledge, also a junior, earned fifth place in the long jump with a distance of 16-7 and took 10th in the triple jump with a 33-1 3/4 finish. Kelly's Morgan LeDure tied Cole Camp junior Kaleena Logan for 15th place in the high jump with a height of 4-8 for Kelly, which finished in a three-way tie with Brentwood and Mountain Grove for 12th place in the overall girls team standings.

Also competing at state on the girls' side were sophomores Bella Bowers of Scott City and Julia Sutterfield of Chaffee. Bowers finished 12th in the 800-meter run with a time of 2 minutes, 29.64 seconds for the Rams while Sutterfield took 14th in the shot put with a throw of 32-7 1/4 for the Red Devils.

In the boys' division, Kelly senior Trey Walker finished in the top four in two events for the Hawks. Walker, who will be running track and cross country next season at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri, posted a third-place time of 1:59.15 in the 800 run and a fourth-place time of 4:29.23 in the 1,600 run. Gaven Ray took fifth place in the 300 hurdles with a time of 41.94 seconds for the Hawks. Ray was also the anchor on Kelly's seventh-place team in the 400 relay that included Matt Burford, Maurice Davis and Dalton Huffman. Huffman, a junior, also competed in the triple jump but fouled and ultimately did not place.

Also competing were St. Vincent senior Robbi Wingerter who posted an eighth-place throw of 136-11 in the discus for the Indians and Chaffee junior Trevor Morehead who took ninth place in the shot put with a throw of 45-5. St. Vincent's Isaac Baer, Levi Krauss, John Lipe and Zach Schumer finished 16th in the 3,200 relay with a time of 8:57.28.
