SIKESTON — Sophomore sensation PJ Farmer recorded a triple-double and led Charleston in a 117-61 clobbering of Scott County Central on Friday, Jan. 17.

Farmer finished with a game-high 27 points to go along with 10 assists and 13 steals.

“The game went well,” said Charleston coach Jamarcus Williams. “It was good to see my guys play hard and have fun. Now we’re focused on some big games this week and preparing to go compete against some solid competition in the Superman Classic Tournament.”

Charleston's other top performers were Almareion Williams with 21 points and four steals; Ko’Terrion Owens with 15 points and eight rebounds; Rico Coleman with 15 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals; and Trey Stanback with 13 points and four assists.

The Bluejays (12-5) have won the Superman Classic the past two times the team competed in the tournament (2022 and 2020), and received the top seed in this season’s field.

Charleston, the third-ranked team in Class 3, begins the tournament against Fort Campbell, Kentucky (2-9) on Tuesday, Jan. 17.

The Braves (2-12) travel to Clarkton (8-7) on Jan. 20.
