The Cape Girardeau Central High School girls tennis team had a 50-dual-match winning streak that spanned four seasons snapped Monday in its season opener against Charleston at Cape Central High School. The Lady Bluejays knocked off the host Lady Tigers 7-2.
"It's unfortunate, but it's kind of what I expected," said Cape Central coach Bud Craven. "The girls were kind of nervous and were younger than their girls. Hopefully this will kind of get the bugs out."
Central's junior varsity beat Charleston 8-1.
