The Charleston Riverdogs swept a road doubleheader at Edwardsville (Ill.) on Saturday in MonClair League play.
The Riverdogs eked out a 3-2 win in eight innings in the opener before breezing to a 9-1 result in the second contest.
Charleston trailed going into the seventh inning in the opener before D.J. Dowdy got a two-out double to score Ryan Kasting and Josh Morse.
Deadlocked at 2, hits by Brad Potts and Ethan Borrowman allowed the visitors to prevail in extra innings.
Ian Householder had three hits in the game for the Riverdogs.
The nightcap saw Alex Beussink pitch a complete game for Charleston, allowing just one run on eight scattered hits. He struck out four and walked one.
Dowdy, Borrowman and Householder each had two hits for the Riverdogs, while Mack Marcus drove in three runs.
Charleston continues league play today hosting Fairview Heights (Ill.) at 1:30 p.m. at Saxony High School in Jackson.
