Champions crowned at Lassies Classic

New champions were crowned Thursday as the Lassies Classic concluded at the Cape Girardeau Country Club.

With some of the field only playing 18 holes after Wednesday's rain, Sissy Donahue and Sherre Simmons emerged victorious in the 32nd annual event with a score of 63.

Vicki Long and Janice Hoffman, who won the tournament in 2008, finished second with a 67.

Defending champions Diane Fowler and Harriette Myers, who have won the Lassies Classic nine times -- six times since 2000 -- placed third with a 68.
