The Chaffee football team wrapped up its season with a lopsided 43-0 victory over Portageville on Thursday.
The Red Devils moved to 5-5, the second straight year they finished at .500 or better.
Chaffee jumped on the Bulldogs early, scoring 23 points in the opening quarter.
Aaron Horrell tossed a pair of touchdown passes in the opening quarter — a 42-yarder to Hunter Thomason and a 43-yarder to Collin Dannenmueller.
Horrell added a 1-yard TD run in the first quarter. He finished 6 of 6 for 142 yards passing in the game.
Thomason rushed nine times for 54 yards and a touchdown, while Daniel Lawson ran six times for 59 yards, including a 30-yard scoring scamper.
Jordan Yahn capped Chaffee's scoring with a 14-yard run in the fourth quarter.
The Red Devils' defense limited the Bulldogs to 25 yards on 29 rushing attempts. Portageville completed one pass for 3 yards.
"That was a pretty good night," Chaffee coach Charlie Vickery said.
NMCC 34, Perryville 0
The Pirates saw their hopes of winning the Class 3 District 1 championship disappear, but they're still headed to the playoffs.
Perryville, which moved to 3-7, will play at Ste. Genevieve on Wednesday.
BOYS SOCCER
Notre Dame 2, De Soto 0
The Bulldogs scored two first-half goals as they improved to 18-4 with a road victory.
Josh Robert gave Notre Dame the lead less than 2 minutes into the game when he scored off a corner kick by Joe Froemsdorf. Brock Dirnberger added a goal on a pass from Joda Holloway later in the half.
Ryan Bass recorded the shutout in goal.
VOLLEYBALL
Class 2 District 4
St. Vincent fell to top-seeded Crystal City in the title match Wednesday night at West County.
Chelsie Boxdorfer put down five kills, while Courtney Besand had four for the Indians. Mackenzie Buehler had seven digs, and Heather Richardet put up 10 assists.
Game scores were 25-17, 26-24.
The Indians reached the championship match by beating St. Pius in the semifinals.
Sarah DeWilde smacked six kills, while Boxdorfer had five in the win. DeWilde added three blocks.
Game scores were 25-17, 25-11.
