DELTA -- Chaffee and St. Vincent both won first-round games in the Delta Tournament Monday, but Twin Rivers and Oran advanced when their opponents did not play because of a canceled day of school due to inclement weather.
Second-seeded Chaffee posted a 51-28 victory over No. 8 Dexter and No. 4 St. Vincent downed No. 5 Delta 41-27.
Top-seeded Twin Rivers advanced when Woodland failed to show and No. 3 Oran advanced when No. 6 Puxico did not appear.
Oran and Chaffee will meet in the semifinal round as well as St. Vincent and Twin Rivers.
St. Vincent 41, Delta 27
Jessica Lakenan scored 20 points and Sara Cissell added 11 for St. Vincent.
Kristin Fish tallied 10 for Delta.
The Squaws built a 14-6 first-quarter lead and led 19-14 at halftime. St. Vincent took a 29-20 lead into the fourth quarter.
Chaffee 51, Dexter 28
Stevie Burks popped for 19 points and Kate Nolen tallied 10 as Chaffee improved to 5-3.
Mikaela Scott paced Dexter with 16 points.
Chaffee opened a 19-6 lead in the first quarter and took a 26-12 lead into intermission. The Lady Red Devils held a comfortable 33-18 advantage at the start of the fourth quarter.
