Chaffee scored three times in the top of the seventh inning to rally past host Naylor 8-6 in softball action Wednesday afternoon.

Sophomore Carleigh Burnett went 3 for 4 with two doubles, scored twice and drove in two runs to lead the Red Devils [5-8]. Fellow sophomore Julia Butterfield also went 3 for 4, scoring twice, while Katlin McFerron blasted a solo home run.

Burnett was the winning pitcher, going all seven innings, allowing six runs -- four earned -- on 12 hits while walking three and striking out one.

Ashlynn Collier went 2 for 4 with an inside-the-park home run and scored twice asthe host Crusaders rolled.

Ashley Steck, Logan Welker, Abby Hadler, Natalie Schlimpert and Tayla Meyr added two hits each to lead a 15-hit attack for the Crusaders [11-4]. Each Saxony Lutheran starter had a hit.

Schlimpert pitched a five-inning one-hitter for the Crusaders. She didn't walk a batter while striking out six.

Ciara Coomer took the loss for Delta, allowing 13 runs on 13 hits, walking two and striking out one over three innings of work.

Megan Perry had the lone hit for the Bobcats.

Visiting Festus rallied with three runs over the final two innings to edge the host Bulldogs.

Conner Elfrink went 2 for 3 for Notre Dame (15-3), which managed just five hits while commiting four errors, which led to three unearned runs for Festus.

Nikki Peters (10-3) took the loss, allowing just one earned run -- a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh that plated the winning run -- on six hits, walking one and striking out six over seven innings.

Central knocked off the host Hawks to avenge a recent nine-inning loss to Kelly in Cape Girardeau.

Farmington 2, Notre Dame 1 (PKs)

Ben Dohogne scored off an assist from Collin Kramer in the second half for the visiting Bulldogs' only score.

Farmington prevailed during the second round of penalty kicks, 5-4, dropping Notre Dame to 4-4 on the season.

VOLLEYBALL

Notre Dame 2, St. Vincent 0

Notre Dame continued to roll with a straight-set road victory, beating the Indians 25-14, 25-21.

The Bulldogs (15-1-1) got nine kills from Karsen Powers, five kills from Annie Siebert, seven assists from Kaitlin Welter and three aces from Taylor Feeney.

Greenville 2, Oak Ridge 0

Oak Ridge was swept 23-25, 20-25 on the road.

Emma Hemmann led Oak Ridge (3-8-1) with seven kills. McKenzie Elam added four kills and Audrey Hunt had three kills.

SWIMMING

Central 92, Jackson 77

Jackson earned wins in seven of the events, but Central showed its depth by winning a dual meet at the SEMO Aquatic Center.

Jackson's Jack Gard won two individual events, the 200 and 500 freestyle, and swam the first leg of the Indians' winning 400 freestyle relay foursome. Alex Snyder also won two events for Jackson, the 200 individual medley and the 100 backstroke.
