CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Chaffee Medicap Pharmacy American Legion posted a pair of 7-6 victories over Jackson Legion on Sunday, improving its winning streak to 18 games. CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Chaffee Medicap Pharmacy American Legion posted a pair of 7-6 victories over Jackson Legion on Sunday, improving its winning streak to 18 games.

Jackson had Chaffee (32-8 overall, 15-5 district) on the ropes in both games.

In the opener, Jackson scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning to tie the game 6-6. Chaffee pushed across the winning run in the bottom of the inning when a grounder by Matt Stroup allowed a runner at third to beat the throw home.

Todd Friend belted two home runs as he had three of Chaffee's 11 hits. Friend had a solo home run and three-run blast in the fifth inning that put Chaffee ahead 6-4. John O'Rourke also had three hits while Andrew Depeder and Adam Friga had two apiece.

Friga pitched one inning of relief and picked up the win. He gave up two hits and struck out one. Starter G.P. Glueck allowed 10 hits over six innings. He allowed all six runs, striking out seven and walking one.

In the nightcap, Jackson led 6-4 entering the bottom of the sixth, but Chaffee responded with three runs in the inning.

Depeder accounted for three of Chaffee's six hits.

Garrett Cook pitched the final two innings to notch the win. Cook allowed four hits, three runs and one walk. Friga allowed two hits over the first four inning, striking out eight and walking four.

Stroup pitched the seventh inning for the save.
