Winning pitcher Montana Estes helped her cause with two RBIs. Taylor Kirchdoerfer added two hits, including a double, for the Red Devils (1-2).

Macy Heisserer, Stacey Heisserer, Melanie Lacey and Jenna Cummins had doubles for Scott City (0-3). Macy Heisserer had two hits for the Rams.

Scheeter (1-0) had three strikeouts and two walks.

Amanda Williams had a home run for Oran (2-0). Halle Woodfin ripped two doubles, and Claire Seyer added a double. Taylor Irwin contributed three hits, and Abbey Anderson had two.

Jackson collected seven hits in a six-run sixth inning as it rallied for a victory at home.

Jackson trailed 4-1 entering the bottom of the sixth, but used two-run doubles by Michelle VanGennip and Tory Smith to take a 7-4 lead.

Megan Dockins led Jackson with three hits, while VanGennip, Chesea Dye and Brooke Whitledge had two apiece.

Ashley Cook pitched six innings for the win. She struck out five, walked one and allowed five hits.

Hannah Thompson recorded the save.

Saxony Lutheran scored the game's first run, but little else went right for the Crusaders in a five-inning loss at home.

Saxony's lone run scored in the bottom of the first, but Clearwater went ahead for good in a three-run second. The Tigers took a 10-1 lead into the fifth, where they doubled their run total.

GIRLS TENNIS Charleston 5, Central 4

Central opened its season with a loss at home to Charleston.

Central's Caroline Harding and Susanna Hayward each won singles matches and combined for a victory in No. 3 doubles. The Tigers' other victory came in doubles.

Shelby Howell had 25 service points for the Eagles. Lyndse Hanby had four kills and Heather Wiseman posted three aces.

Eagle Ridge 13 25 19

New Salem defeated the Eagles in three games.

Wiseman had 15 service points and four aces for Eagle Ridge.

Megan Woodall led the Eagles' defense with 12 digs, while Hanby had two blocks. Susanna Cohen had four kills.
