The cold and wet conditions at Kimbeland Country Club suited Travis Simmons just fine.

The Central junior fired a 2-under-par 33 over the front nine to win medalist honors and lead the Tigers to a second-place finish in a quadrangular hosted by Jackson.

Notre Dame won the meet with a team score of 149, led by Brady Dixon's even-par 35.

Jackson was second at 156, with Adam Way and Eli Pike each carding 2-over 37s. Central was third with a 164 total.

Colin Sprandel led Saxony (221) with a 48.

"It was wet and cold, and you had to play the ball up," said Jackson coach Zack Walton. "That's just the way it is this time of year."

Walton knows his team didn't shoot particularly well, but acknowleged the conditions probably played a factor.

"I think a few of us underachieved," Walton said. "I don't know if it was just a bad day, maybe we were a little nervous."
