The 6-foot-2, 190-pound two-year starter was a tight end with the Tigers last season and caught 13 passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns.

"He wasn't the most physical player, but he had good technique and was a smart player," said Jerry Dement, last year's head football coach. "You didn't have to tell him things twice. They'll probably put some weight on him and I'm sure he'll contribute."

Roddy was a second-team all-conference tight end. He also played on the basketball team.
