Jennifer Pancoast finished fifth overall Saturday in the Class 3 state cross country championship meet in Jefferson City, the best finish among Southeast Misosuri qualifiers.

Pancoast led Central to an 11th-place finish as a team, the best finish in the school's history.

Panocast covered the 3.1-mile course in 19 minutes, 35 seconds. She was followed by junior Cassie Kipper (21:59) who placed 87th.

Other teammates were freshman Linnea Woldtvelt (108th, 22:40), sophomore Holly Shaffer (119th, 22:56), and junior Mallory Wilson (127th, 23:18).

Joel Hahs turned in the only other area all-state performance for Meadow Heights, finishing 25th in 18:58. He paced Meadow Heights to an 11th-place team finish. Meadow Heights was also helped along by Evan Kamp (20:02) who finished 63rd.

The area's other top performers were Notre Dame's Sarah Unterreiner (24:24) and Kelly's Michael Glastetter (18:59).
