CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Central (1-13-2) gained its first win of the season, 15-4, 6-15, 15-8 over Chaffee (3-9) Tuesday.
Ashton Lee had five aces and Mallory Kiefer added nine points for Chaffee. Natalie Townson contributed 13 digs and Jenifer Vandeven had nine kills in a losing effort for Chaffee.
Central's JV squad also won 15-7, 5-15, 15-13 Chaffee's JV is now 0-8.
Perryville 6-15-15, Grandview 15-13-12
Perryville (6-13-3) fought off a slow start and beat Grandview in three games.
Casey Moll put up eight points and seven kills for Perryville. Lisa Pecaut added nine points, 14 assists and five blocks. Alissa Moeckel had a big night with five points, eight kills and 11 digs.
Perryville JV won in two games 15-2, 15-12.
Eagle Ridge 11-15-15, Twin City 15-12-4
Eagle Ridge bettered their record to 8-1 in three sets. Rachael Baugh had 11 points, six aces, and seven kills. Cara Ervin contributed 10 points, five aces, and six kills while Savana Irrizary added seven points.
Eagle Ridge's junior varsity won on two sets, 15-8, 15-0.
BOYS' SOCCER
Jackson 7, Sikeston 0
JACKSON, Mo. -- Tyler Beussink helped Jackson (4-7-1) roll past Sikeston. Beussink scored the first goal of the game and finished with two goals and an assist.
Stuart Nolan and Brett LaForest also scored two goals each. Mark Banvile had a goal and an assist. Mitchell Casteal and Derek Biri added an assist each.
Austin McDowell made just two saves to recored his third shutout.
Jackson's JV also shutout Sikeston 3-0. Tyler Sprandle (2) and Jordan Barnhart scored for the Indians.
Carbondale 2, Central 1
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- It looked like overtime was in store for Carbondale (12-1) and Central (8-5-1) until Carbondale scored with less than two minutes left in the game.
Patrick Bahlen scored the first goal of the game at the 12 minute mark for Carbondale. Heath Orr then scored just two minutes later to tie it.
GIRL'S TENNIS
Poplar Bluff 6, Jackson 3
Jackson (6-7) fell below .500 with a loss to Poplar Bluff.
Kim Anderson and Lauren Everett picked up singles wins for Jackson, and Katie Domian and Everett won on the doubles side.
CROSS COUNTRY
Farmington Invitational
Jackson won the overall varsity girls title behind a championship performance by Rachle Lowes.
Jackson placed four girls in the top 10 and had eight medalists. Jackson did not field a full varsity boys team because of a scheduling conflict with its marching band.
P.J. Humphrey was the top boys' finisher for Jackson with a seventh-place finish. Kremer Rampley also medaled with a 17th-place finish.
Jackson's JV boys finished second overall. Kirk Hendershott led the way with a fifth-place finish.
Jackson's eighth-grade boys and girls also had strong performances. The girls took second and the boys finished third.
