St. Vincent and Central advanced to the semifinals of the Noon Optimist Soccer Tournament with wins Thursday at Central.

St. Vincent will play Marion today, and Central will face Sikeston in the other semifinal.

In first-round action, St. Vincent (2-0) routed Poplar Bluff 4-0.

Jessica Welker led St. Vincent with two goals and two assists. Liz Brueckner and Sarah Moll added goals. Liz Rozier and Morgan Moll added assists. Megan Wengert recorded her second shutout of the season.

Central beat Farmington 5-0 in other first-round action.

Sarah Uptmor scored twice for the Tigers (2-1), and Kacie Broemmelsick, Haley Pilsner and Tierra Walker added goals. Danielle Markhart had two assists, while Broemmelsick, Abby Kiefner and Uptmor each had one.

Perryville fell 3-2 to Sikeston in penalty kicks. The Pirates (1-1) trailed 2-0 before scoring twice in the final 11 minutes to force overtime. Emily Hanquist and Alicia Kueker scored for Perryville off passes from Kendra Schilli. The Pirates will face Farmington in the consolation bracket.

Notre Dame fell to Marion 3-0 in its opening game. The Bulldogs fell to 0-1 and will face Poplar Bluff in the consolation bracket.

Trenton Moses went 2-for-2 with a home run, triple and three RBIs in the Hornets' home win.

Adam Cato struck out eight and allowed just two hits in a complete-game win.

David VanGennip had three hits and two RBIs for Advance (1-1), and Garrett Mayo and Nate Middleton added two hits apiece.
