POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Cape Girardeau Central's girls' soccer team ended its regular season with a 3-0 victory over Poplar Bluff Thursday.
Central (8-6-1), which led 1-0 at halftime, got goals from Meagan Freeze, Megan McDonald and Julie Underwood. Underwood and Allie McGinty had assists while goalkeeper Megan Kistner recorded the shutout.
The Tigers will play Poplar Bluff again Saturday at 1:30 p.m. as the Class 4A, District 1 Tournament begins in Jackson. Central is seeded second and Poplar Bluff is the third seed for the four-team event.
Central's JV (9-1-3) tied Poplar Bluff 2-2. Lacy Landgraf and Lauren Thompson had goals for the Tigers.
Jackson 1, Carbondale 0
JACKSON, Mo. -- Courtney Urhahn scored with less than five minutes left in the second half as Jackson finished the regular season with just one loss. Whitney Werner recorded the shutout.
No. 1 seed and host Jackson (13-1-1) will play No. 4 Farmington in the district tournament at noon Saturday.
Softball
ORAN 10, EAST PRAIRIE 0
ORAN, Mo. -- Teresa Hodges threw a no-hitter, with five strikeouts and one walk, as Oran rolled to a win in five innings.
Torie St. Cin was 2-for-3 with a triple and 3 RBIs for Oran (8-2-1).
Baseball
ORAN 11, EAST PRAIRIE 1
ORAN, Mo. -- Trey Graviett pitched a one-hitter and struck out nine as Oran romped in five innings.
The Eagles (13-4) had 13 hits, led by Graviett's 3-for-3 day that featured three RBIs. Nathan Seyer tripled and doubled while Joey Bickings, Ryne Wood, Tyler Cookson and Garrett Roslen also had two hits each. Seyer, Wood and Cookson drove in two runs.
St. Vincent 4, West Co. 3
LEADWOOD, Mo. -- St. Vincent handed West County (16-2) its second loss of the season despite being outhit 12 to 4.
Josh Triller provided two hits for St. Vincent (4-13), including a two-run single in a four-run first. Zach Moll (1-0) picked up the win and Matt Wengert recorded the save.
Golf
ST. VINCENT WINS TITLE
CRYSTAL CITY -- St. Vincent won the Jefferson County Conference Tournament Wednesday with a 313 total at Crystal Highlands, finishing 14 shots ahead of runnerup Festus.
The Indians' Wes Richardet claimed medalist with a 2-over-par 74.
