The Tigers won a three-team meet with a 1-under-par team total.

Central senior golfer Blake Driskell blazed through the Cape Girardeau Country Club course, shooting a 4-under-par 31 to help the Tigers post a 1-under-par 139 as a team Thursday in a three-team meet with Jackson and New Madrid County Central.

"I've been doing this for 30 years and it's the first time I've had a team shoot under par," Central coach Dick Wadlington said.

Wadlington said Driskell's 31 was the lowest score ever posted by a Tigers player at the Cape Girardeau Country Club.

Zach Kluesner was right behind Driskell with a 34, and Robert Kaverman and Kirk Lohmann each shot a 37. Jack Connell also got under 40 with a 39.

Gabe Sauer led the Indians with an even-par 35 as Jackson shot a 152. T.J. Smith shot a 37, and Josh Wheeler and A.J. Balsman each shot a 40.

New Madrid County Central finished with a 186.

BASEBALL Jackson 2, Poplar Bluff 1

Luke Crader had a bases-loaded single with two outs in the fifth inning and Jackson won at home behind the three-hit pitching of Logan Lawson.

Crader, who had two of Jackson's four hits, singled after Poplar Bluff scored its only run in the top of the inning.

Lawson went all seven innings and struck out five and walked four.

Jackson improved to 8-7 overall and 5-4 in the SEMO Conference.

Notre Dame got the better of Kelly in the sixth inning and hung on for a road win.

The victory marked Notre Dame coach Jeff Graviett's 150th win in seven seasons with the Bulldogs, who improved to 11-4 overall and 6-3 in the SEMO Conference.

Anthony Wulfers earned his fourth win on the mound, allowing four hits and three earned runs in six innings. Shane Menz pitched a one-hit seventh inning for the save.

Jordan Felter led Kelly with two hits.

Blaine Stewart and Chris Wright knocked in four runs each to lead Bell City on the road.

Stewart had three hits, including a triple and a three-run home run, and Wright had two hits. Nick Niemczyk added a double and a triple for the Cubs (7-2).

Dale Long went 3-for-4 with a double and a homer for Woodland (4-8), and Andrew Wagoner added three hits.
