The Central girls track and field team took first place at the Poplar Bluff Invitational late Friday night behind nine first-place finishes.
The Tigers tallied 180 points to Jackson's 161.
Nicole Jackson won the 100- and 200-meter runs for Central, and Dani Gross won the long jump and triple jump.
The Jackson girls won three relays -- 400, 800 and 1,600 meters. Rebecca Martin, Jenna Holten and Melanie Essner were on all three relays. Rachel Kahle was on the 400 and 800 squads; Rachel Lowes ran on the 1,600 relay. Martin also posted the only individual win for the Jackson girls, in the shot put.
In the boys competiion, Central had three winners -- Calen Wills won the 400, Jared Harris in the pole vault and the 1,600 relay -- en route to a third-place finish.
Jackson won two field events -- Brad Crader in the discus and Andy Glass in the shot put -- and finished sixth.

Springfield InvitationalThe Central swimming program attended its largest competition Saturday, competing in a 23-team in Springfield, Mo.
The Tigers finished 11th, scoring all 30 of their points in relay events.
Parkway South was first with 272 points, followed by Blue Springs (221) and host Glendale (180).
Hannah Kinder and Amber Dewrock were a part of all three relay squads. The 200-meter freestyle relay foursome of Kinder,Dewrock, Kayla Auer an Hannah Lewis posted Central's best finish, placing seventh in 1:53.79. The 400 free relay of Kinder, Dewrock, Lewis and Callie Hoffman placed ninth in 4;15.75. The 200 medley relay team of Kinder, Hoffman,Dewrock and JessiYarbro was ninth in 2:09.78.
Central competes in the SEMO Conference meet with Notre Dame and Poplar Bluff on Friday at Central Municipal Pool.
