Central won the Show Me Conference swimming title Friday for the second straight year, and the Tigers 200-meter free relay team made the state cut time for the 200 free relay.

Cassie Kipper and Hannah Kinder were chosen as the co-MVPs of the meet. Each won two individual events and were members of the state-qualifying relay team.

Meadow Heights 10, Bloomfield 9

Meadow Heights held on for a road victory as the Panthers won their second straight game.

The Panthers (5-12) led 10-2 in the sixth inning before Bloomfield rallied. In the bottom of the seventh, with the score 10-9 and the based loaded, Kevin Statler came on to retire the final three batters to earn a save one day after he picked up a win. Freshman Brian Miinch was the winner.

Statler homered for the Panthers, as did Terry Wagner, who had three hits and four RBIs.

Playing its fourth game this week, Oran had to use ace Matt Seyer sparingly and lost on the road.

Oran (14-3) had beaten Chaffee 16-13 on Thursday. Garrett Roslen had three hits, including a home run and two doubles.

I-55 Tournament

Notre Dame and Jackson both began the I-55 Tournament with wins on the first day of the two-day tournament.

The Bulldogs improved to 14-3-1 with a 2-0 win over Northwest. Sierra Ellis and Lauren Mehner scored for the Bulldogs. Destiny and Amanda Dirnberger had the assists, while Laura Muir picked up the shutout.

Jackson (16-3-1) picked up a 5-0 win over Bishop DuBourg. Molly Hartmann scored twice, and Shay Priester, Hannah Kohm and K.T. Biri scored a goal apiece. Kylie Werner picked up the shutout.

Central lost 3-0 to Lafayette.

St. Pius 3, Perryville 1

St. Pius turned back 16 Perryville shots and held off the Pirates in a showdown for first place in the Jefferson County Conference.

St. Pius (19-1) improved to 4-0 in the JCC with one game to play while Perryville (11-9) fell to 3-1.

The Lancers fired 22 shots at Perryville keeper Chastity Marr. They led 2-0 when Perryville's Jocelyn Moll snapped the shutout with an unassisted goal in the 63rd minute.

St. Vincent 1, Sikeston 0

Whitney Guth scored the lone goal in a home win. Stacy Brown picked up the assist, and Michelle Herzog made five saves for the shutout. St. Vincent improved to 7-15.

SOFTBALL

Delta 15, Leopold 0

Delta scored 10 runs in the third inning and beat Leopold in four innings at home.

Kaci Menz had four hits, including a double to lead Delta (9-2). Shea Smith had three hits, including a triple and a double. Sarah Cook pitched a two-hitter for her ninth win.

Scott City completed its season with a 10-7 record.

Dana Williams drove in the tying run in the seventh, then scored the winning run on a wild pitch. Advance improved to 12-2.
