Cape Girardeau Central's girls track team won its eighth consecutive SEMO Conference meet championship by scoring 106 points in the event held Friday at Central.

Jackson (82) took second over Poplar Bluff (64) and Sikeston (19).

Central's Vicki Wilson had a hand in four first-place finishes. She won the 100 and 200 while running legs on two victorious relay teams. Central won 10 of 18 events overall.

Poplar Bluff topped the boys division with 108 points, followed by Sikeston (63), Central (54) and Jackson (45).

Jackson's Mario Whitney won both the 100 and 200.

Perryville boys win

FESTUS, Mo.-- Perryville's boys team repeated as Jefferson County Conference champions, winning Thursday's meet with big performances from Kevin Bohnert, Kyle Dobbelare and Kent Hadler.

Dobbelare won the 110-meter hurdles and the long jump, while finishing second in the 300 hurdles and the triple jump. Bohnert won the 100 and 200 meters. Hadler was first in both the 800 and 3,200 and placed second in the 1600.

The Pirates scored 193 points to outdistance runner-up Herculaneum (159) in the nine-team meet.

Perryville's girls were fourth with 118 points as Herculaneum (138.5) prevailed.

Chaffee Invitational

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Loren Groves won four events to lead Scott City's girls to a second-place finish in the seven-team meet.

Groves captured the 100 hurdles, 300 hurdles, shot put and discus.

Chaffee's Jennifer Vandeven won three events, the 100, 200 and 400.

Malden won the boys' and girls' team titles.

Girls' soccer

CENTRAL 2, CARBONDALE 1

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Allie McGinty scored two goals and Julie Underwood assisted on both as Central (7-6-1) handed Carbondale just its second loss of the season.

Central's junior varsity (9-1-1) suffered its first setback of the season, 2-1.

St. Vincent 5, Sikeston 0

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Caitlin Hoeh scored two goals and assisted on a third as St. Vincent (6-10-1) blanked Sikeston.

Amanda Carron, Whitney Guth and Kindle Ernst also scored goals for the Squaws. Jessica Berhle, Chelsey Brown, Carron and Ernst also picked up assists.

Mindy Cattoor posted the shutout in goal.

St. Vincent won the junior varsity contest 5-0.

Baseball

ORAN 8, WOODLAND 4

ORAN, Mo. -- Oran rolled behind the pitching of Trey Graviett, who pitched six innings, gave up only one hit and struck out 10.

Nathan Seyer went 2-for-4 including a home run for the Eagles. Chad Hulvey, Matt Bucher and Patrick Friga all had doubles for Oran (11-4).

Graviett also produced at the plate as his only hit was a two-run double off the fence in the first inning.

Softball

ORAN 5, CHAFFEE 4

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Jami Pobst was the winning pitcher and Ashley Dirnberger had three hits as Oran slipped past Chaffee.

Alicia Webb and Lexi Todt added two hits each for the Eagles (7-2-1).

BOYS' TENNIS

Central 5, Lone Oak 4

Central (12-3) only won two of the six singles matches but swept the doubles to defeat Lone Oak (Ky.).

Central's JV (12-1) won 6-1.
