Nichole Thiele scored two goals in the second half and Cape Central High's girls soccer team improved to 4-0 with a 4-1 home-field win over rival Jackson Tuesday.

Central led 2-1 entering the second half. Thiele then scored an unassisted goal at the 67-minute mark and added another score on an assist by Ashley Skinner five minutes later.

"In the first half I wasn't real pleased; (Jackson) was outhustling us," said Central coach Tom Doyle. "In the second half we played a lot better and we pretty much controlled."

Central's Skinner scored the game's first goal at the 4:45 mark on a corner kick with an assist from Thiele. The Lady Tigers' Abby Harris then scored eight minutes later on an assist by Skinner to make the score 2-0.

For Jackson (2-2), Julie Wunderlich scored on a corner kick with an assist from Hallie Roseman two minutes before halftime.

The JV game, both teams' season opener, ended in a 1-1 tie.
