Central ended a nine-game winless streak with a 16-0 win at Potosi in five innings on Monday.

Freshman Brad LaBruyere made his first varsity start and pitched five shutout innings for the win. LaBruyere struck out five, walked one and allowed four hits.

Fellow freshman Matt Hester had three hits and two RBIs. Patrick Slattery added two hits for Central (2-8-1). Mark Dunaway, Zac Hudson and LaBruyere had two hits apiece.

Central's JV team improved to 5-0 with a 7-2 win. Tyler Bruce allowed one hit and struck out eight for the win.

Poplar Bluff won with a team score of 295, followed by Central's 314. Jackson finished seventh with a 337 and Notre Dame was ninth with a 356.

Poplar Bluff's Jake Robertson won the event with a 69.
