The Central boys soccer team blanked Camdenton 2-0 in the first round of the Jefferson City Capital Classic.

Tyson Whiteside scored his seventh goal of the season 19 minutes into the game on an assist from Aaron Hutsell. Matt Hellrich assisted Sam Bornstein for the second goal.

The Tigers (8-3) will play 11 a.m. today in the semifinals and again at 3:30 p.m.

Eagle Ridge 4, New Salem 3

Josh Freeman scored twice for New Salem Baptist Academy of Marble Hill, but Eagle Ridge Christian School of Cape Girardeau scored in the last 30 seconds to win at Houck Stadium.

Tobias Hoeflich scored on a penalty kick for New Salem (0-2), and Brett Jones and Chewy Eickhoff had assists.

SOFTBALL Kelly 5, Perryville 1

Mindy Robert hit a three-run triple in the sixth inning to lift Kelly to a road victory at Perryville.

Kelly pitcher Whitney Beggs won her sixth game. Jessica Burnett and Rachel Kline each had two hits for the Hawks (16-5).

VOLLEYBALL Leopold 25-25-25 Bell City 27-20-18

Amber Nenninger had 16 kills, 10 digs and five blocks to lead Leopold to a home victory.

Sam Bueter had 10 digs, Lori VanderMierden had eight digs and Rachel Crader had 32 assists for the Wildcats (9-5). Bueter, VanderMierden and Tonya Arnzen each added seven kills.

Woodland 25-25 Oran 18-15

Woodland swept Oran in two sets.

Chelsea McCormick and Lotte Cook each had four kills. Cook also added three aces for the Cardinals (8-4).

JV -- Woodland (6-3) won 25-23, 25-14

New Salem 25-25 Eagle Ridge 16-21

New Salem Baptist Academy of Marble Hill posted a two-set victory at Eagle Ridge Christian School in Cape Girardeau.

Holly Jordan had seven kills for New Salem (7-4). MacKenzie Jones had seven assists and Laura Poole added five assists.

Autumn Crowden led Eagle Ridge with five points.

JV -- Eagle Ridge won 27-29, 25-17, 25-4
