The St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Cubs will play a day-night doubleheader Aug. 31 to make up the game canceled when Darryl Kile died.
It will be the first day-night doubleheader at Wrigley Field. The park will be emptied after the first game, which will start at 12:05 p.m. CDT, and the second game will begin at 7:05 p.m.
The Cardinals and the Cubs canceled their June 22 game after Kile, 33, was found dead in his hotel room. The starting pitcher died from blocked arteries supplying the heart, according to final autopsy results released Tuesday.
Kile also had an enlarged heart and a blood clot in one of the coronary arteries, said Edmund Donoghue, the county's chief medical examiner.
