Carbondale (Ill.) recorded its second victory on Notre Dame's home field this season, escaping with a 2-1, double-overtime victory over the Bulldogs on Tuesday night.

Carbondale, which defeated Notre Dame 1-0 in the championship game of its Soccerfest, scored the game-winner with three minutes left in the second 10-minute overtime.

Blake Urhahn staked Notre Dame (4-3) to a 1-0 lead six minutes into the game, scoring off a feed from Dustin Tatum. The Terriers tied the score in the 33rd minute.

The Bulldogs had several scoring chances but were stymied by some stellar saves by the Carbondale goalkeeper.

"It's a shame we lost because I really thought we played a nice game," Notre Dame coach Brad Wittenborn said.

The teams battled to a 1-1 draw in the JV game. Frankie Ellis scored the goal for Notre Dame.

VOLLEYBALL

Notre Dame 15-15, Woodland 0-7

Ali Tyson served out the first game and Notre Dame (16-2-1) used a balanced offensive attack in the second game to cruise past Woodland at home.

For Woodland (0-11), Amanda Abner had five digs and seven assists. Jenna Greer added five digs and two kills, and Stacie Greer had two kills.

Notre Dame JV won easily 15-1, 15-2 win.

Jackson 15-15, Sikeston 3-8

Jackson (15-1-2) used a strong, balanced offense to roll at Sikeston.

Jesse Koepper had seven kills and eight assists for Jackson. Molly Hartmann added six kills, Linden Hahs tallied six digs and Katie Loes finished with six assists.

Jackson's JV rallied to win a tight match 11-15, 15-12, 16-14.

NMCC 15-15, Central 5-6

Central (1-19) lost in straight sets at New Madrid County Central.

Central's JV picked up a three-game victory, 7-15, 15-7, 15-5.

Scott 15-15, Oran 4-13

Scott City rolled to a straight-set victory at home to improve to 13-4-2.

Sidney Baer led the Rams with six kills and Amanda O'Brien had four kills and nine assists. Shana Wadlington added three kills and five aces while Megan Ressell finished with 11 assists.

For Oran (5-6-1), Carmen Duncan had four points. Amber Seyer added four kills and four blocks, and Teresa Hodges had two kills, five blocks and five digs.

Scott City JV won in two games 15-4, 15-12.

Leopold 15-15, Bell City 3-7

After losing to Ste. Genevieve in the championship match of the Perryville Tournament on Saturday, Leopold (17-2-1) has come back with a vengeance, sweeping by Bell City (11-4) at home one night after cruising past Marquand.

Leopold's Holly Jansen had a balanced match with 11 kills and eight blocks. Tasha Thele added six kills and Wendy Vandeven had 15 assists.

Leopold's JV won 15-7, 17-15.

Caruthersville 15-15, Chaffee 12-10

Host Caruthersville needed just two sets to bump off the Red Devils.

Natalie Townsend and Mallory Kiefer had seven kills apiece to lead Chaffee (1-7). Jennifer Vandeven had seven blocks, seven digs and two aces while Ashton Lee totaled 23 assists and seven service points.

Advance 15-15, Bernie 6-13

Dana Williams had 13 kills and Leslie Rainey dished out 13 assists in Advance's win on the road.

Williams added five blocks. Nicole Tropf had four assists and four digs.

Advance's JV (11-2) lost 12-15, 15-10, 13-15.

Eagle Ridge 15-15, Peoples 2-11

Eagle Ridge Christian improved to 6-1 with a straight-set home victory over Peoples of Arnold, Mo.

Ashley Hughes collected 10 service point for Eagle Ridge and Rachel Carbaugh had five aces..

Eagle Ridge's JV won 15-3, 15-11.

St. Vincent 9-15-15, Festus 15-5-13

St. Vincent (8-8-2, 2-0) climbed back to .500 with a three-game victory on the road.

Sierra Paulus had 16 points for St. Vincent, including four blocks and two kills. Dani Emmendorfer added 10 assists and Marybeth Reiss had four blocks and three kills.

St. Vincent's JV (4-5-1, 0-2) lost 10-15, 15-2, 15-2.

DeSoto 15-15, Perryville 9-4

Perryville (4-12-3) continued to struggle with a two-game loss at DeSoto.

Casey Moll led the way for Perryville with eight kills, seven digs and two points. Stephanie Landholt added five points, seven digs and three blocks.

SOFTBALL

Notre Dame 4, Goreville (Ill.) 3

Notre Dame (11-3) struggled offensively but slipped past visiting Goreville (Ill.) behind another strong performance on the mound by Lindsay Reinagel.

Reinagel (10-2) went the distance for the win, allowing three earned runs on six hits, striking out four and walking none. Notre Dame was held to four hits.

GIRLS' TENNIS

Central 7, Sikeston 2

Central improved to 7-1 in dual matches with a road victory.

Sikeston came away with the number one singles and doubles, but Central swept the rest.

Central's JV (8-0) won 9-0.

BASEBALL

Woodland 10, Bernie 9

Scott Crader drove in the tying run in the bottom of the seventh inning with his fourth hit of the day and then executed the back half of a double steal to score the winning run, all part of a four-run rally at Woodland on Monday.

Luke Johnson, who went 3-for-4, scored on the two-out double steal as Bernie made a play on Crader.

Alex VanGennip added two hits, three stolen bases and four runs for Woodland (4-4).

Anthony Grojean (4-0) pitched seven innings for the win.

JV BOYS' SOCCER

Jackson 10, Kennett 0

Jackson's JV rolled at Kennett to improve to 2-1-1.

Brent Balsmann, Cory Murphy and Chris Kraust had two goals apiece. Cameron Keller, Nick Robinson, Jordan Barnhart and Chris Bramlett each had a goal. Scott Sterling recorded the shutout.
