BELL CITY -- Wes Steele combined for seven runs batted in and hit homers in back-to-back games while Tommy Wencewicz had seven hits in two games as the Cape Girardeau Ford & Sons Senior Legion team crushed Stoddard County in a doubleheader Friday night.

Cape (18-17) won the first game 11-1 and the second game 21-3.

Wencewicz had three hits in the first game and two in the second. In his last four games, Wencewicz has 12 hits.

Steele had a home run for one of his four hits in the first game, while he had a homer and three RBI in the nightcap.

Garrett Broshuis had two doubles and two RBIs in the first game, while Mark Ostendorf picked up the win in three innings of work. Ostendorf allowed one hit and no walks while striking out five. Rob Car pitched three innings of relief and struck out four.

In the second game, seven players had at least two hits and two had four, including Dusty Barrows who had two doubles and a pair of RBIs.

Zac Fidler and Daniel Turner each had three hits.

Matt Jones was the winning pitcher. He allowed no hits through three innings. He fanned six and issued one walk.
