The Cape Girardeau American Legion team climbed back to .500 with a 4-1 win over Shelbyville on Friday at the Paducah Tournament.

Ford & Sons (9-9) got a complete-game victory from starter Kirk Boeller. Boeller allowed five hits, walked one and struck out three.

Zac Hudson led Cape's 10-hit attack with a 3-for-3 performance. Sean Bard and Dane Balsmann had two hits apiece. Ty Craft had three RBIs.

Cape will play host Paducah today at 5 p.m. in its final game of the tournament.

Jackson's American Legion team fell 4-1 to Athens, Ala., at the Paducah Tournament. Tyrone Reece picked up the loss. Jackson had just two hits while Athens had five.

Jackson lost on Thursday 10-3 to Tupelo, Miss.
