The Cape Girardeau Ford and Sons Post 63 Senior American Legion baseball team wrapped up play in the Polk Brooks Tournament in Paducah, Ky., Saturday night by beating Ballwin 5-0.

Cape, which went 2-2 in the tournament, is 16-15 on the season.

Cambron Womack pitched all seven innings for the shutout. He allowed six hits, struck out four and walked four.

"It was his best pitched game of the year, easily," Cape coach Justin Lieser said.

Womack also had two RBIs, as did Drew Bartels. Trevor Propst had two of Cape's six hits and scored twice.

Post 63 split a pair of tournament games on Friday, defeating Chugiak, Alaska, 5-4 before falling to Terre Haute, Ind., 10-1.

In Friday's first game, Womack drove in Calvin Lovig with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh inning for the winning run. Womack also had a triple, as did Wyatt Isom. Propst was 2 for 2 with two walks.

Propst started on the mound and allowed four runs on nine hits, walking three and striking out five in three innings. Chugiak left the bases loaded in both the first and third innings as Propst stranded seven runners on base through the first three innings.

J.C. Chapman got the win in relief, pitching four scoreless innings, allowing just one hit while striking out seven.

In the second game, Post 63 had just three hits and scored its lone run on Thomas Crocetti's sacrifice fly. Ryan Tegel took the loss, allowing six runs -- just one earned -- in two innings.

Cape returns to action Tuesday night with a doubleader at District 14 opponent Dunklin County.
