The Cape Girardeau Ford & Sons Post 63 Senior Legion baseball team recorded its third shutout in two days when it defeated the Jackson Senior Babe Ruth Cyclones 8-0 on Monday at Capaha Field.

Hayden Lynn struck out nine batters in six innings in recording the win.

Lynn helped his own cause with two hits, two runs, two stolen bases and an RBI. Trevor Propst and Nick Jones both added two hits and scored a pair of runs. Jones had two RBIs, while Propst had two stolen bases.

Cape (6-2) had posted 2-0 and 4-0 wins over the Chaffee Senior Babe Ruth Strokers on Sunday. The shutouts included a no-hitter by Matt Chism.

Cape returns to action at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the Charleston Fighting Squirrels tournament at Notre Dame Regional High School.
