It was a tough night at the plate for the Cape Girardeau Ford & Sons American Legion baseball team Monday.

Paducah, Ky., swept a doubleheader at Capaha Field, winning the first game 11-0 and the second 7-1 after the game was called in the sixth inning because of lightning.

Skylar Cobb had Cape's lone hit in the two games.

Tyler Glidewell scored Cape's run in the second game when he walked, stole second, went to third on a passed ball and scored on an error.

Josh Meyer took the loss in the first game after going five innings.

Cobb took the loss in the second game, allowing three earned runs on three hits in four innings. He struck out seven as Cape fell to 5-5 this season.
