SIKESTON -- Sikeston pulled off a pair of comebacks to sweep Ford & Sons Cape Legion Thursday night in a makeup of Wednesday's rained out action.
Sikeston scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh in both games, winning the opener 4-3 and the nightcap 9-8.
Cape Legion fell to 13-7 overall and 6-6 in the district.
Garrett Broshuis was a hard-luck loser in the opener, allowing seven hits, walking four and striking out eight. His final strikeout ended the game as a passed ball on a third strike with the bases loaded allowed the winning run to score.
Sikeston took a 2-0 lead in the third inning, but Cape Legion moved ahead with single runs in the fourth, fifth and seventh.
Tommy Wencewicz had two of Cape's seven hits.
Ford & Sons jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the nightcap with six runs in the first and two in the fifth. Sikeston scored nine unanswered runs with five in the fifth and two in both the sixth and seventh.
Mark Ostendorf suffered the loss in relief of Justin Cook.
Daniel Turner and T.J. Erlacker each had two hits in Cape's seven-hit attack.
