Cape Junior Legion sweeps Sikeston

The Cape Girardeau American Legion junior team improved to 13-7 by sweeping a doubleheader from visiting Sikeston Tuesday, 9-3 and 9-6.

Logan Henson pitched all seven innings of the opener, allowing four hits and one earned run. He struck out five.

Steven Brennan and Christian Cavaness both had three hits. Cavaness drove in three runs.

Ethan Dambach pitched 4 2/3 innings in relief for the victory in the nightcap. He allowed three hits and struck out three.

Justin Modglin had two hits and two RBIs. Adam Pennington also had two hits and Luke Hinkebein added two RBIs.
