Cape Girardeaus Blake Driskell jumped into a tie for fourth place after Wednesdays second round of the Missouri Stroke Play Championship at Dalhousie Golf Club.
Driskell shot a 2-under-par 70 for a two-day total of 145, four strokes behind leader Matt Miller of Eldon, Mo.
Driskell, who graduated from Central in 2006, recorded four birdies and an eagle during his round Wednesday. The eagle came on the 515-yard par-5 15th.
Joe Ida, who led after the first day, shot a 74 and sits in second with a 143, two shots off the lead.
Two more local players lurked within seven shots of the lead as Cape Girardeaus Todd Obergoenner and Bryan Johnson both sit tied for 10th.
Obergoenner shot a 2-over 74 to match his opening-round 74. He carded birdies on Nos. 2, 4 and 7 but struggled some on the back nine with bogeys on Nos. 11, 12, 14 and 17.
Johnson also shot a 2-over for a 148 two-day total. He birdied a pair of holes on the front nine but bogeyed four holes on the back.
The field was cut to the top 50 scores and ties after Wednesdays second round. The players who made the cut will play 36 holes today.
Driskell will start his day from No. 1 at 9:50 a.m., while Johnson goes off at 9:26 a.m. from No. 1 and Obergoenner at 9:26 a.m. from No. 10.
