The Southeast Missouri State department of athletics received a $5,000 donation from the Cape Girardeau Noon Lions Club to assist in funding for facility improvements at the Holcomb Success Center, the university announced Wednesday.

Clint Karnes president of the local Noon Lions Club, presented the gift to athletic director Brady Barke at a luncheon hosted by the department inside the recently renovated weight room.

Plans for improvements to the Holcomb Success Center include a renovated space for computer lab work terminals and study hall space, new equipment and renovations to the future sports medicine space and development of an athletic nutrition center.
