Cape Fear posted a 3-2 victory against One Foot on the Floor in Sunday's championship match of the Cape bracket in the 16th annual American Poolplayers Association tournament.

With the win to cap a three-day tournament at the A.C. Brase Arena Building, Cape Fear qualified for the national tournament this August in Las Vegas.

Cape Fear's team consists of John Reilly, Danny Peck, Janet Gaddis, Tommy Gaddis, Judy Reilly, Jason Goben and Ron Burner.

Burner won the point to determine the final match. Both teams play out of the league at Brothers Again Lounge.

Cape Fear beat Play Me Early in the semifinals of the 18-team bracket, while One Foot on the Floor defeated Young Guns.

In all, 100 teams played for four spots in the national tournament.

Three other brackets had a random draw of 82 teams from outside of Cape Girardeau. Winners in those brackets were Barb's Regulars of Parma, Mo.; the Claybirds of Vanduser, Mo.; and the Young Guns of East Prairie, Mo.
