BONNE TERRE -- Cape Central's baseball teams won a pair of games over the weekend, winning a high-scoring 14-8 affair with North County Friday night and a 3-2 squeaker over Potosi on Saturday. Josh McIntosh homered twice in the win over North County (5-6) and finished with six RBIs. Big games were also enjoyed by Justin Welker, who went 4-for-5 with two RBIs, and Zach Fidler, who tied a school record with two triples. Fidler also finished with three RBIs. The Tigers had 16 hits overall...

Josh McIntosh homered twice in the win over North County (5-6) and finished with six RBIs. Big games were also enjoyed by Justin Welker, who went 4-for-5 with two RBIs, and Zach Fidler, who tied a school record with two triples. Fidler also finished with three RBIs. The Tigers had 16 hits overall.

Jay Pierce went the distance for the win. He allowed 13 hits, walked three and struck out five.

On Saturday, Cape Central (11-4) struck for all three of its runs in the second inning and held off Potosi (7-3).

Dusty Barrows had an RBI triple in the inning and Rob Carr added an RBI double.

Justin Cook held Potosi to single runs in the fourth and sixth innings, but gave way to Richard Harrison in the seventh after allowing a leadoff hit.

Harrison eventually retired the Trojans, leaving the tying and winning runs stranded at first and second. Cook, who allowed 11 hits, walked one and struck out four, was credited with the win. Harrison, who got the save, did not allow a hit, struck out one and walked one.
